We are inspired every day by the beautiful discoveries you share with us. To honor the vibrancy and value that each of you brings to Trover, we created the $500 Trover Travel Scholarship. Each month, we award it to one traveler who has particularly inspired us with their photos and stories.
This month, we’re thrilled to award the Trover Travel Scholarship to Sophia Field!
Meet Sophia Field, an entrepreneur working to launch a tech startup for philanthropy. After more than a decade in the San Francisco area, Sophia landed in Seattle where she enjoys exploring around the city, both near and far. Sophia loves nature, photography, and, of course, travel! She’s a longtime member of the Trover community and has been spreading the word since she first joined! We asked Sophia to share a few details about her travels and favorite discoveries shared on Trover. Take it away, Sophia. . .
Heuriger Kierlinger, Austria
My love for traveling is often inspired by my curiosity and urge to discover little local treasures that aren’t on the list of popular points of interest. This tavern was definitely a random treasure that I stumbled upon and happened to be a wonderful and memorable experience for many reasons. Just getting there is an adventure on its own. . . 😉
Dead Woman’s Pass, Peru
As popular as trekking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu may be, this place transcends any descriptors or photographs. I still get the chills when I think of the moment I reached the highest point of this trek, Warmi Wañusqa, “Dead Woman’s Pass.” The breathtaking panoramic views of these mountains at near 14,000 ft—it’s something you cannot imagine, you’ll just have to experience it.
Bench Lake, Washington
This is one of the main reasons I randomly decided to move to Seattle. . . having such easy access to the majestic beauty that can be seen from everywhere on a clear day. This particular viewpoint isn’t even a marked one, so I thought I’d share it.
Follow Sophia on Trover where she shares unique experiences from her adventures near and far! South Korea is next on her travel list. It’s where she was born and she plans to rediscover it as an adult. You can also find Sophia on Instagram to see what she’s cooking up—not only is Sophia a passionate explorer, she’s also quite the foodie!
Thank you, Sophia, for sharing your hidden gems with the Trover community! We can’t wait to see more from your travels. Enjoy the $500 for travel!
