We are inspired every day by the beautiful discoveries you share with us. To honor the vibrancy and value that each of you brings to Trover, we created the $500 Trover Travel Scholarship. Each month, we award it to one traveler who has particularly inspired us with their photos and stories.
This month, we’re thrilled to award the Trover Travel Scholarship to Olivia-Petra Coman!
Meet Petra Coman! This Transylvanian travel writer & translator spends 3 months a year on the go. She loves kayaking, snowboarding, baking, and clothes! Not only a trail-blazing adventurer, Petra is a trend-setting fashionista with plans to start her own clothing label. Petra relies on her keen eye & Motorola phone for capturing travel moments. Among her go-to gear is a collection of head buffs for sun protection & the perfect accessory for bad hair days. Her secret travel tip is to “Trust your gut when dealing with the locals—it will lead you to fantastic spots and hearts.” We asked Petra to tell us about her favorite destinations she’s shared on Trover. Take it away, Petra. . .
Driving through Southern Altai to the border with Mongolia in a shared taxi made me realize how the area had become one of my favorite in the world. We got invited to a wedding, visited a local house in Aktach, and made friends.
Bihać, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Water and paddling are a big part of my life and many happy moments were on Una, the river that I love most in the world. It’s got great rapids and waterfalls, turquoise eddies, and a perfect vibe.
Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda
I am an animal lover and Uganda was extraordinary from this point of view! Our Murchison Falls self-safari remained our favorite and this was the first giraffe we ever spotted in the wild—a moment full of emotions.
Thank you, Petra, for sharing your travels with the Trover community! We love your passion for every bit of the adventure! Keep up with Petra on Trover and see what she finds on her upcoming trip to southern Sweden “exploring the remote beaches, the small seaside towns, and the castles” while learning about the culture, history and “fika”—a uniquely Swedish concept about slowing down to enjoy the moment. You can also keep up with Petra on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Visit her blog for in-depth travel insights. We can’t wait to see your next adventure, Petra. Enjoy the $500 for travel!
