June 2018 Trover Travel Scholarship

We are inspired every day by the beautiful discoveries you share with us. To honor the vibrancy and value that each of you brings to Trover, we created the $500 Trover Travel Scholarship. Each month, we award it to one traveler who has particularly inspired us with their photos and stories.

This month, we’re thrilled to award the Trover Travel Scholarship to RV Outlawz!

Laurels with Scholar Name - RV Outlawz

Meet Veronica & Denny, the digital nomads and explorers at work as the RV Outlawz! This pair of intrepid travelers took their life and home on the road to explore all year round. Veronica & Denny shared details about their RV outlaw lifestyle and a few of their favorite gems discovered along the way. Strap in for this cross-country adventure! Take it away, Outlawz. . .

We are Veronica and Denny aka RV Outlawz—traveling the United States for the past 5 years full-time by RV with our 2 adventure cats. We managed to keep our corporate jobs of web design (Veronica) and sales (Denny) on the road and take full advantage of our weekends exploring the surroundings we travel to. Ideally, we follow the weather staying in one location long enough to find the local gems and plan our next adventure. While maintaining a balance of adventure, a healthy lifestyle and sharing quality moments with friends and family.

Trees overlooking large body of water

“Marquette, Michigan means a lot to us. It’s one of our favorite places and having both lived in Michigan, it makes it more beautiful even! It offers hiking, biking, beaches, forest and overall beauty in the summer, as well as snow for winter fans!” — RV Outlawz

The question comes up frequently about taking the leap and being a digital nomad. Five years ago it wasn’t so easy, but we took the risk and jumped for it. Maintaining a solid internet connection while on the road is our top priority, as well as being a dependable employee. Technology employers are now more open to remote workers and that trend keeps growing.

“LaConner (Washington) was one of our favorite camping locations, there was a spiritual side to it. Maybe the Native American presence and influence had a lot to do with really appreciating and respecting the area. Everything had a meaning or purpose. . . “

Trover was recommended by Gone with the Wynn’s, a fellow traveler, and ever since Trover has been our top tool that we use to explore the best finds around the country. We post our best finds on Trover.

After spending the past two years out west, our upcoming travel plans for 2018 have us exploring the East Coast with Bar Harbor, Maine being our pinnacle point before making our slow path south for the winter in the Florida Keys. Check us out and come along for the ride.

Placid river canyon surrounded by steep cliffs

“The Santa Elena Canyon in Big Bend National Park was memorable because of how beautiful and impressive it was, but also there were only a handful of people there, it was an amazing experience to feel like we had the canyon to ourselves!”

Be sure to follow RV Outlawz on Trover to experience their next local gem! You can also catch Veronica & Denny on Instagram or their website RVOutlawz.com. Thank you, RV Outlawz, for sharing your RV adventure and delightful discoveries with the Trover community. We’ll see you on the road and in the trove—enjoy the $500 for travel!
