Meet Binbin Zheng! A self-proclaimed gear nerd, he captures spectacular cityscapes and natural wonders on his medium format Phase One & SONY A7R point & shoot. This avid photographer is also a motorcycle lover & rockin’ bass player. Binbin is frequently on the go, splitting time between Shanghai, Vancouver, and several airports. He recommends bringing your best photog mate to make your travel experience more enjoyable and for friendly competition. We asked Binbin to tell us about his favorite destinations he’s shared on Trover. Take it away, Binbin. . .
For me the reward in photography is seeing the result after hard work, in this case, we had to resort to local help to get up to this location in the deep snow. Hiking was very hard with a heavy bag because of the elevation and on that morning everything looked very gloomy right until the moment the sun decided the peek through.
Yosemite National Park
I just happen to be lucky with this one, I rolled up at the right moment at the right place, the view was just so inspiring and all I had to do was to wait for the right moment to fire the shutter, it such a simple shot, yet it’s one I’ll never forget.
This is the second or third time I was up there at the peak in Hong Kong and having had bad luck with the weather before I was quite anxious to get a decent shot. The summer months (when the good sunrises are) are very muggy and uncomfortable in Hong Kong and the short hike to this location seemed to become very challenging while carrying a big camera bag. Again, it was probably the hard work and perseverance that struck me most in this image.
