Trover Ambassador Oneika had a tough time pouring over so many impressive entries, filled with color, life, and amazing info! Oneika notes that she loves the vibrancy, emotion, descriptive info, and unique cultural phenomenon Sam shared from Heard Museum in Phoenix, Arizona. The museum is “dedicated to the advancement of American Indian art” and hosts the annual Hoop Dance World Championships. Sam shares that “hoop dancing is a long-standing tradition in many Native cultures. Passed down from one generation to the next, hoop dancing communicates individual and tribal stories using hoops to create symbols and depict animals of great meaning in Native communities. The continuous circle of the hoops symbolizes the circle of life and the continual changing of the seasons.” Thank you, Sam, for sharing your spectacular photos and highlighting this beautiful art! Check out more of Sam’s finds and follow him on Trover to see what he discovers next.
Thank you to Oneika for making the tough decision and to all of the Trover community for sharing your extraordinary examples of #Culture! See the full list to discover the mosaic of awesome all around us!
