August 2018 Trover Travel Scholarship

We are inspired every day by the beautiful discoveries you share with us. To honor the vibrancy and value that each of you brings to Trover, we created the $500 Trover Travel Scholarship. Each month, we award it to one traveler who has particularly inspired us with their photos and stories.

This month, we’re thrilled to award the Trover Travel Scholarship to Gerrit Ebert!

Meet Gerrit Ebert, full-time engineer and part-time explorer with a passion for hiking, wildlife and landscapes! Originally from Germany, Gerrit now lives in the States. A quick look at Gerrit’s stunning photos and you’ll see he’s taken the opportunity to thoroughly explore the natural wonders of the US. We asked Gerrit to share a few details about his travels and favorite discoveries shared on Trover. Take it away, Gerrit. . .

Havasu Falls, Arizona
This is probably the most beautiful place I have been to so far. It is a strenuous hike to get there but the reward at the end is indescribable. Blue water surrounded by red canyon walls and only a few people around you.

Reflection Canyon, Utah
I love to hike to beautiful places and this one of my favorites. I went there with a friend and we stayed overnight to see both, sunset and sunrise. If you plan to go there, do your homework! You will need a GPS and a lot of water.

Lower Yellowstone Falls, Wyoming
I have been to Yellowstone National Park recently so the memories are still fresh. I would actually recommend the whole park but this is one of my favorite pictures from there because it shows the famous Yellowstone Lower Falls from a different view than usual.

Follow Gerrit on Trover to keep up with his adventures. Next on the list is photographer’s paradise of New Mexico’s Bisti Badlands to explore the “strange stone formations that seem to be from another planet.”

Thank you, Gerrit, for sharing your jaw-dropping finds and natural wonders! We can’t wait to see more from your adventures. Enjoy the $500 for travel!
