11 New Zealand Sights to Rule Them All

Snow-covered volcanoes, lush rainforests and a staggeringly high sheep-to-people ratio, it seems as if the islands of New Zealand have fallen out of the pages of a storybook… or a Hollywood script. In just the last 20 years, New Zealand has provided the backdrop for a number of big-budget blockbuster films, from King Kong to The Chronicles of Narnia series, and perhaps most notably, The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

September 22nd is the birthday of author J.R.R. Tolkien’s famous characters, Bilbo and Frodo Baggins. To celebrate these two sneaky little Hobbitses, and their beautiful land called Middle Earth, we have collected Trover discoveries from eleven of New Zealand’s most breathtaking sights.
